Over half of your fellowship time will be here, with a weekly continuity clinic woven into most of your rotations to deepen your learning.<\/p>\n<p>Valuable experience will also be gained in hospital consults and outpatient rotations at partner institutions like Grady Memorial Hospital, Children&#8217;s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, and Emory University Hospital. This fellowship is an exciting journey to sharpen your skills and advance your expertise in spinal cord injury care.<\/p>\n<h2>Fellow responsibilities<\/h2>\n<p>As a fellow, you will be at the forefront of spinal cord injury medicine, gaining hands-on experience and a comprehensive understanding of patient care across all stages of recovery. Key responsibilities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Direct patient care:<\/strong> Deliver evidence-based assessments and interventions for individuals and families across the continuum of care, from acute treatment to long-term rehabilitation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Research:<\/strong> Lead a research project, contributing to the advancement of spinal cord injury medicine through innovative study and clinical application.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Didactic training:<\/strong> Develop a strong foundation of clinical knowledge and skills through a variety of structured training opportunities, focusing on evidence-based practices for individuals with disabilities and chronic health conditions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Professionalism:<\/strong> Maintain ethical, responsible, and professional conduct in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Rotation schedule<\/h2>\n<p>A typical rotation schedule includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Primary inpatient:<\/strong> 7 blocks<\/li>\n<li><strong>Primary outpatient:<\/strong> 3 blocks\n<ul>\n<li>Outpatient clinic rotations will be split between the SCI Clinic, Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic, Urology Clinic, Upper Extremity Clinic, and the SCI Day Program<\/li>\n<li>The outpatient clinic rotation at Children&#8217;s Health of Atlanta (CHOA) at Scottish Rite will be for at least two weeks with the option of increasing to four weeks depending on fellow&#8217;s request\/interest<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Split inpatient\/outpatient:<\/strong> 1 block<\/li>\n<li><strong>Electives:<\/strong> 1 block\n<ul>\n<li>Customized based on fellow&#8217;s interests<\/li>\n<li>Available at Shepherd, Grady Memorial Hospital (GMH), CHOA at Scottish Rite, or Emory University Hospital (EUH)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"paragraph-widget paragraph-widget--text-html\">\n\t<div class=\"idf-block text-content\">\n\t\t<h2>Sample fellowship block<\/h2>\n<p>Months are a proposed schedule. All rotations will occur but may move to accommodate the fellow\u2019s learning experience\/interests.
