We offer one 12-month fellowship position available to individuals who:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology, or Psychiatry.<\/li>\n<li>Are enrolled in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrmp.org\/fellowship-applicants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Resident Matching Program<\/a> (NRMP), also known as The Match (National Matching Service Code 1113347F0). The Brain Injury Medicine Match is a subspecialty under the Rehabilitation Medicine Fellowship Match.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Successful completion of the fellowship program satisfies the eligibility requirement to take the Examination in Brain Injury Medicine to obtain Subspecialty Certification in Brain Injury Medicine.<\/p>\n<h2>Application submission instructions<\/h2>\n<p>Shepherd participates in the Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS\u00ae). To apply, the following must be submitted through the <a href=\"https:\/\/students-residents.aamc.org\/applying-fellowships-eras\/applying-fellowships-eras\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ERAS\u00ae website<\/a> by the deadline to be considered for an interview:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ERAS\u00ae fellowship application<\/li>\n<li>Personal statement<\/li>\n<li>Medical school transcript<\/li>\n<li>Letters of recommendation<\/li>\n<li>Photograph<\/li>\n<li>United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and\/or COMPLEX-USA transcripts<\/li>\n<li>Medical student performance evaluation (MSPE or &#8220;Deans Letter&#8221;)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Resident matching program<\/h2>\n<p>Shepherd&#8217;s Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), also known as The Match. Information can be obtained directly from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrmp.org\/fellowship-applicants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NRMP website<\/a>. <strong>Our NRMP Program Code is 1113347F0.<\/strong> The Brain Injury Medicine Match is a subspecialty under the Rehabilitation Medicine Fellowship Match.<\/p>\n<h2>Application deadlines<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">If you are interested in applying for the 2026-2027 position, please submit your application as soon as possible. Interviews will occur early this interview season.<\/p>\n<h2>Interview process<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Interviews will be in person for the 2026-2027 fellowship position and will occur on <strong>8\/22\/25<\/strong> and <strong>8\/29\/25<\/strong>. No other interview dates will be offered, and no applications submitted after 8\/22\/25 will be considered. Selection will be based on a letter of intent, qualifications of the applicant, and letters of recommendation. After the initial review process, select applicants will be invited for an interview.<\/p>\n<h2>Fellowship salary<\/h2>\n<p>Annual stipend rates are set by Emory University School of Medicine and will be at the PGY-5 level\/rate. Of note, fellows receive stipends monthly. Employment benefits are comprehensive and competitive.<\/p>\n<h2>Fellowship benefits<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>15 days of paid time off per academic year.<\/li>\n<li>Up to 12 weeks of maternity\/paternity leave, per FMLA guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Provided textbook, &#8220;Brain Injury Medicine: Principles and Practice.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Reimbursement to attend one conference.<\/li>\n<li>Additional benefits are offered through Emory University.
