With mentorship from experienced clinicians, you\u2019ll develop independence in key areas such as diagnostics, treatment planning, caseload and time management, and critical thinking in cognition, communication, dysphagia, and voice.<\/p>\n<h2>Program goals<\/h2>\n<p>Throughout your fellowship year, you\u2019ll work across various settings \u2014 acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, and both acute and post-acute care \u2014 focusing on adolescents and adults facing conditions like stroke, cognitive-linguistic challenges, and disorders of consciousness. You\u2019ll also have the chance to work closely with allied health and rehabilitation specialists, creating a well-rounded clinical experience.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of your fellowship, you will be prepared to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct diagnostic assessments to create patient-centered care plans.<\/li>\n<li>Distinguish and address motor speech, cognitive-communication, language, voice, and dysphagia disorders.<\/li>\n<li>Design creative therapeutic plans tailored to each patient\u2019s needs in both home and community settings.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.<\/li>\n<li>Embody ethical, professional, and responsible conduct in all aspects of care.<\/li>\n<li>Launch your career with confidence in medical speech-language pathology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"paragraph-widget paragraph-widget--cta\">\n  <div class=\"idf-block cta\">\n    <div class=\"cta__container\">\n      <div class=\"cta__description\">\n        <h2 class=\"cta__title\">Speech-language pathology fellowship application requirements<\/h2>\n                  <p class=\"cta__body\">We offer one unique clinical fellowship slot for applicants who desire to advance their skills required for serving the catastrophically injured population, with emphasis on brain or spinal cord injury.
