    About<\/h2>\n

    Dr. Anastasia Zarkou, a physical therapist by training, joined the Hulse Spinal Cord Injury Laboratory in the Fall of 2017 after receiving her Ph.D. in Biomechanics and Movement Sciences from the University of Delaware.<\/p>\n

    Her dissertation work aimed at identifying distal lower extremity somatosensation deficits, delineating their relationship with balance and motor function, and investigating if they can be modulated by utilizing random noise stimulation to enhance balance control in children with cerebral palsy.<\/p>\n

    Currently, her research interests focus on investigating non-invasive and highly translational to clinical practice therapeutic methods to enhance neuroplasticity, promote motor and sensory function, and improve the overall quality of life in people with spinal cord injury.<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
