    About<\/h2>\n

    Dr. Ford Vox is the Medical Director for Inpatient Continuity at Shepherd Center, where he focuses in ensuring high-quality, coordinated care for patients across various rehabilitation programs. Dr. Vox is also a medical director in the workers compensation space, where he helps guide complex case management.<\/p>\n

    Board-certified in both physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) and brain injury medicine, Dr. Vox has been a member of Shepherd Center\u2019s medical staff since 2012, previously serving as the Medical Director of the Disorders of Consciousness Program. Prior to his tenure at Shepherd Center, he was the Medical Director of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program at New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn, Mass., and a clinical assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston.<\/p>\n

    Dr. Vox earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, followed by an internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. He completed his PM&R residency at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine and a fellowship in Neurorehabilitation at Boston University School of Medicine.<\/p>\n

    He is currently the chair of the rehabilitation committee for the state of Georgia\u2019s Trauma Commission, where he helps shape statewide trauma rehabilitation care policy. Dr. Vox also remains actively involved in academic medicine as an adjunct assistant professor in the Emory University Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.<\/p>\n

    Previously, Dr. Vox served on the board of Mental Health America of Georgia, a statewide nonprofit advocating for mental health awareness and education.<\/p>\n

    In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Vox has an extensive background in medical journalism. He has contributed to major media outlets, including Bloomberg, Reuters, U.S. News & World Report, The Atlantic, Newsweek, and The Los Angeles Times. Although no longer engaged in regular media appearances, his past work includes serving as a contributing writer for CNN Opinion and as a medical analyst for Atlanta\u2019s NPR affiliate, WABE 90.1 FM.
