There are four types of Guillain-Barr\u00e9 syndrome, each with its own specific characteristics.<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"paragraph-widget paragraph-widget--accordion idf-block inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (AIDP) <span class=\"sp-before-icon\"><\/span>\n        <\/button>\n      <\/h3>\n      <\/h2>\n      <div role=\"region\" id=\"flush-collapse_9761_1\" class=\"accordion__content\" aria-labelledby=\"flush-heading_9761_1\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordionFlush9761\">\n        <div class=\"accordion__content-wrap text-content\"><p>The most common type, AIDP affects the myelin sheath, the protective covering of nerves.<\/p>\n<p>Symptoms include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sudden weakness on both sides of the body, in the toes and feet, progressing upwards<\/li>\n<li>Weakness or droopiness on one side of the face<\/li>\n<li>Slow or absent reflexes<\/li>\n<li>Difficulties with speaking, swallowing, or moving the eyes and tongue<\/li>\n<li>Tingling, burning, or pain in the skin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n                                  <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n          <div class=\"accordion__accordion\">\n      <h3 aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"flush-collapse_9761_2\">\n          Acute motor axonal neuropathy (AMAN) <span class=\"sp-before-icon\"><\/span>\n        <\/button>\n      <\/h3>\n      <\/h2>\n      <div role=\"region\" id=\"flush-collapse_9761_2\" class=\"accordion__content\" aria-labelledby=\"flush-heading_9761_2\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordionFlush9761\">\n        <div class=\"accordion__content-wrap text-content\"><p>AMAN damages the axons, the long, threadlike part of a nerve cell.<\/p>\n<p>Symptoms include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dizziness and fainting<\/li>\n<li>Sexual dysfunction<\/li>\n<li>Urinary problems, including loss of bladder control<\/li>\n<li>Problems digesting food<\/li>\n<li>Issues with sweating<\/li>\n<li>Slow pupil reaction<\/li>\n<li>Exercise intolerance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n                                  <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n          <div class=\"accordion__accordion\">\n      <h3 class=\"accordion__title\" id=\"flush-heading_9761_3\">\n        <button class=\"accordion__trigger\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#flush-collapse_9761_3\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"flush-collapse_9761_3\">\n          Acute motor-sensory axonal neuropathy (AMSAN) <span class=\"sp-before-icon\"><\/span>\n        <\/button>\n      <\/h3>\n      <\/h2>\n      <div role=\"region\" id=\"flush-collapse_9761_3\" class=\"accordion__content\" aria-labelledby=\"flush-heading_9761_3\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordionFlush9761\">\n        <div class=\"accordion__content-wrap text-content\"><p>This type affects both the myelin sheath and the axons.<\/p>\n<p>Symptoms include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Numbness and tingling in the feet and hands that progresses to limb weakness and walking difficulties over about 10 days<\/li>\n<li>An inability to move the legs, stand, or walk<\/li>\n<li>Weakness that moves from the lower half of the body to the upper half<\/li>\n<li>Problems with automatic processes such as breathing<\/li>\n<li>Weakness and lack of muscle control in all limbs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n                                  <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n          <div include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Difficulty moving eyes and drooping eyelids<\/li>\n<li>Reduced coordination in the limbs<\/li>\n<li>Unsteady movement<\/li>\n<li>Facial weakness<\/li>\n<li>Limb
